Recipe! Internet! Action!
July 14th, 2004 by owenamThe NYT article I mentioned in a previous post ended with a casual recipe for tomato sauce. Throwing culinary caution to the wind, I dumped a bunch of stuff in a pan and hoped for the best. What I came up with just happened to be some of the best pasta sauce I’ve ever had:
2 15oz cans stewed tomatoes
3oz tomato paste (more for thicker sauce)
3 – 5 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1 Tsp olive oil
1 handful salt
1 handful sugarCook the garlic in the olive oil until golden. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar and salt. Simmer for 10 – 15 minutes. Spoon over pasta (I prefer angel hair/spaghettini) and eat.
The sauce was good enough to warrant an impromptu dinner party, and was well-received enough to get David and me invited over to Frannah’s for chocolate-covered bananas the next day.
I’m getting worried about the future of our internet connection. Of the people I know in this building using the same service, 100% have had very prolonged outages in the past several weeks. I guess we’ve been lucky. Perhaps it is finally time to make good on our constant threats to get a cable connection.
The dolts over at 1&1 are up to their old tricks again. Professor Yeti is unreachable, and therefore un-updateable. Again, it’s a good thing we’re not paying them anything. I just feel sorry for the suckers who are.
