Why Are You Looking At Me Like That?
March 9th, 2005 by owenamOk, so I haven’t been very good about posting stuff lately. By “lately,” of course, I mean “for the past three months.” Maybe this signifies a change. Maybe not.
What it does signify is that I’m once again working on the site, as you’ve probably noticed. I just upgraded to WordPress 1.5, which means I’ll need to spend some time re-working my site design to fit with the new theming system.
The new themeing system, by the way, is something I’m pretty excited about. The fact that it separates out the code for handling different types of pages (eg, index vs. single article vs. archive) will, with any luck, make it possible for me to move Professor Yeti to WordPress with a minimum of hacking. The improved plugin API should help with this project as well — most of the frustration experienced during my last attempt was a result of having to make lots of modifications directly to the WordPress code. Modifiying others’ code, as it turns out, is something at which I do not excel. Word.
So, watch this space — if you like. Most of my near-future webular efforts will probably be directed at PY, but I just might be able to guilt myself into posting a bit of content to the Fish as well.
