		<description>&lt;p&gt;I remember when I trained for the half-marathon. I ran 11 miles when it was 9 degrees out, only I didn&#039;t know the temperature until I got home. Dressing for the weather is extremely important, and being careful on ice is also a must, but in general you really can get out no matter what the temperature.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;That said, I&#039;ve been a total slacker about biking in Seattle. It&#039;s easy to be deterred by rain and darkness. The s-curvy hill I prefer to take has no street lights and a single lane for two-way traffic. I&#039;m sure if I rode, I would be fine, but it&#039;s easy to come up with lots of rationalizations to take the bus instead of biking.&lt;/p&gt;
